This National Museums Northern Ireland print collection includes important works dating from the 1600s to more modern times.
Among the collection’s earliest pieces are Italian, Dutch and Flemish etchings and engravings from the 1600s and 1700s. The 1900s are well represented, and the collection holds the important Lady Mabel Annesley collection of woodcuts and wood engravings. Also included is a distinguished collection of British etchings from the first half of the twentieth century, as well as posters from the 1900s. The contemporary collection, featuring mainly Irish, British, Continental and American prints, was built up during the 1970s and 1980s.
