Conferences & Meetings at the Ulster Museum
Stand out from the crowd and excel by hosting your conference or meeting at a cultural landmark steeped in history.
Conferences and Meetings at the Ulster Museum take place in the Lecture theatre, Belfast room, Welcome Area and Art Galleries.
The state-of-the-art lecture theatre is located on the ground floor, adjacent to the orientation hall. This multi-functional space has seating for up to 200 delegates and offers professional conference facilities in a very unique setting.
In addition to its tiered seating and stage area with lectern, the Lecture Theatre has a full PA system and AV package, offering corporate groups a competitive and bespoke sound system with excellent acoustics for video/film, spoken voice and musical entertainment. There is also high quality ambient lighting for the lecture theatre & stage, which can be controlled from either the mixing desk or lectern. Please note we do not provide an AV technician to oversee your meeting as part of our facilities hire but we can organize this for an additional fee. Alternatively, you may bring in your own technician.
The Belfast Room complements the Lecture space perfectly, providing an optional area for a lunch or a breakout room for workshop sessions. The adjoining hall is ideal for refreshments to be served during comfort breaks or to display exhibition stands.
All of the spaces are fully accessible and there are bathrooms located near the Lecture Theatre on the ground floor. Automated cloakroom facilities are also available.
Delegates may take a tour of the Ulster Museum when their business sessions have finished.

The Belfast Room in the Ulster Museum is ideal for any meeting or intimate event. Overlooking Stranmillis this space is light and airy and can accommodate up to 100 pax theatre style.
Located off the main Lecture Theatre, the Belfast Room is perfectly positioned as a separate meeting space or for use as a breakout room or exhibition space. It also adjoins the side entrance hall, which means that it can accommodate larger numbers for a standing reception. Audio visual equipment is available onsite. Please note we do not provide an AV technician to oversee your meeting as part of our facilities hire but we can organize this for an additional fee. Alternatively, you may bring in your own technician.

This dramatic reception, or Welcome Area, provides an exclusive space for business or social gatherings and is ideal for any event.
The reception area is most suited to breakfast or evening meetings, as it is the main orientation space for the public during normal opening hours. The welcome area is spacious and beautifully lit, with a combination of natural light and the light effects from the Window of the World, to its left. There are excellent branding opportunities, with blank walls for projecting logos, and large screens in the background which can be used to project images appropriate to the event.
Please note we do not provide an AV technician to oversee your meeting as part of our facilities hire but we can organize this for an additional fee. Alternatively, you may bring in your own technician. This space would suit where a minimum amount of set up time is required due to time restrictions.
All of the spaces are fully accessible and there are bathrooms located next to the welcome area on the ground floor. Automated cloakroom facilities are also available.
