Learning

Learning at National Museums Northern IrelandToday, as immigrants come to live and work in Northern Ireland we are reminded of the two million and more people who left this country in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in search of better lives abroad.

The story of that earlier emigration is brought to life here at the Ulster American Folk Park.  When you visit us, you can enhance your experience by taking part in our specially created educational programmes.  These are derived from the main themes of the museum and are usually based in and around the traditional buildings and associated exhibitions.

We have a team of experienced guides and demonstrators to lead these activities and programmes.  Each programme is tailored to meet the needs of specific museum users, ranging from pre-school pupils, to schools, families, community groups and adult learners. Educational groups can use our modern Education Centre and overnight accommodation is available in the Residential Centre.
