Centre for Migration Studies courses

May 2009 marked the end of the teaching of the MSSc in Irish Migration Studies (in collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast) in its recent format. Given the very positive outcome of the review of the course carried out by Queens University Belfast in the Spring of 2008, it has been agreed that a new course more particularly focussed on family migration history, directed particularly at adult learners and taught at the Centre for Migration Studies will be prepared for 2010-11.

From January 2010 Dr Fitzgerald from the Centre will offer a twelve week module on Irish Migration History as part of the Queens University’s School of History’s MA programme. Although this module will be taught on a weekly basis on the Queen’s campus, students will also visit and use the resources of Centre for Migration Studies and the Ulster American Folk Park.
