Creative Summer Showcase

Participants in Live and Learn summer workshops celebrate their achievements by presenting the film installation "Moving Lives" and a colourful exhibition of their arts and crafts.

Moving Lives ImageThe National Museums' Live and Learn Project presents “Moving Lives”, a film installation of migration stories past and present. Produced by film maker Mairead McClean in collaboration with 22 participants of the Creative Summer Programme at the Ulster American Folk Park, this site specific work can be seen in the 18th century Tullyallen Masshouse.

Other participants from the Creative Summer workshops will present their art and craft work in an exhibition in the Emigrant’s Gallery of the Ulster American Folk Park.

This exhibition was launched on Thursday 29th September 2011.

The Live and Learn Project is a 5 year outreach programme run by the National Museums Northern Ireland and is delivered in association with Age NI. It is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and draws upon the collections and resources of National Museums. This project has been set up to encourage creative learning opportunities for the over 50’s.
