School Lesson
Get your class to ‘toe the line’ by visiting one of the Museum’s two national schools. Step back in time and lead your class in a Victorian style school lesson using dip pens, ink and slates. Students will role-play a Victorian school child’s experience of a day at school, bringing a piece of our coal/ turf to class, using the traditional toys for playtime and staying clear of the dreaded cane. This session is taken by your own staff, with downloadable teacher guidelines to help plan your lesson.
This lesson takes approximately 30 minutes and the educational group rate applies. Groups must pre-book this space.
