Traditional Arts and Crafts
Every year the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum offers adult classes in a wide range of traditional arts and crafts. The Museum collections are used as the inspiration for these courses. Participants are taught how to use traditional ideas and techniques in a contemporary way.
If you would like to learn a new craft or make more of your skills, you simply have to decide which course interests you and send the booking form back to us with a cheque to cover payment.
Typical courses offered include:
- Watercolours for both beginners and advanced students
- Weaving
- Card Making
- Blacksmithing
- Whitework
- Spinning
- Crochet & Tatting
- Textile Art
- Goldthread embroidery
- Scrapbooking
- Candle making
- Tiffany glass
- Ballycultra Homemade Christmas
Where possible, items from the Museum’s collections are used as a basis for all the workshops.
If you have a group of 6 or more people, we may be able to organise some of the courses at a date and time that best suits you.
