Bygone Fashion to inspire design students

A selection of the Ulster Museum’s historic and contemporary costumes will be on display in the University of Ulster’s Belfast campus in an exhibition exploring costumes and accessories from the 1700s to present day.

'Hans' together for Top Science Students

Northern Ireland’s top three science students were recognised today in one of the province’s most prestigious academic awards held at the Ulster Museum. Gareth Gamble, Laura Bateman and Manvi Singhal were presented with the Hans Sloane award by guest speaker, Dr Stanley Hawkins, Consultant Neurologist at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
Saturday Family Matinees return to the Ulster Museum

One of the Ulster Museum’s best loved traditions is to return as ‘Movies at the Museum’; a series of Saturday family matinees linked to stunning exhibits in the museum galleries, is launched in partnership with QFT. In response to popular demand, the matinees will take place every Saturday afternoon for six weeks, over January and February reviving a tradition which started at the Ulster Museum in 1929 and continued until the mid 1970’s.
Ulster Museum Masterpieces to go on show in Spring 2010

A new exhibition of some the best Irish art in the world is to be staged at the Ulster Museum in the spring of 2010.It will feature major works by 20th century artists Jack Yeats, Paul Henry, Gerard Dillon, Sir John Lavery and Louis Le Brocquy as well as paintings dating back through the 19th, 18th and 17th centuries.

Ulster Museum reaches landmark 100,000th visitor

The Ulster Museum has welcomed 100,000 visitors in its first month since reopening on the 22nd October - making it the busiest tourist attraction in Northern Ireland in recent weeks. The 100,000th visitor, Julie Kuchocha from Ballycarey, was welcomed to the Ulster Museum on Saturday – a day which attracted 3,500 visitors in total.

Look back in Kindness exhibition opens at the Ulster Museum. An exhibition inspired by renowned Belfast artist, John Kindness, opens today at the Ulster Museum.
