Making Connections is a programme of open afternoons for anyone aged 50+ and takes place on the first Wednesday of every month at the Ulster Museum.

Join Northern Ireland Screen at the Ulster Museum for screenings of archive footage of Northern Ireland dating from the 1890s-2000s. There will also be orientation sessions of the Digital Film Archive- a resource that is available in libraries and museums and contains hours of archive footage, films, news and more. No need to book- just drop in from 1:30-4:30pm.
A 60s Celebration: an event afternoon inspired by the exhibition My Generation: Art of the sixties and early seventies. The afternoon will include film screenings, art workshops, talks and music. Some activities will require advance booking.
Writer and Mountaineer, Frank Nugent, will give a talk focusing on Irish Polar explorers entitled The Irishmen who served with Captain Scott and Sir Earnest Shackleton on the centenary of Captain Scott’s death. Lecture Theatre, 1pm.
Material Mail: Textiles postcards workshop with artist Heather Wilson. This workshop forms part of Live and Learn’s Craft Month programme in association with Craft NI. Please note this workshop will take place from 10am-4pm and will have a limited number of places, advance booking is required.
Slow Art with Bronagh Lawson. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon session in one of the Museum’s Art galleries exploring the art of looking and the joy of details. From 1pm.
