The warm humanity and tenderness of artists such as Rembrandt, Hals and Vermeer have won them an enduring place in our affections. This course examines the intimate domestic scenes, the luminous landscapes, the sensitive and realistic portraits of 17^th century Holland, with a consideration of the origins of this tradition in the Flemish culture of an earlier age.

These Art lectures will take place for 10 weeks from Jan-March 2012
