Education and school groups

When you arrive

Our Welcome Team will be there to warmly welcome you and answer any questions you may have. Plan ahead with this useful information about what to expect when you arrive.

Keeping you safe

Help us keep you safe. Remember to wash your hands regularly or make use of our hand sanitiser stations dotted around the museum and keep a safe distance from other visitors and staff.

If you’re feeling under the weather, please don't visit the museum. Read more about how we intend to keep you safe on your visit.

Face coverings

Although no longer necessary, we recommend you still wear a face covering when moving around the museum for the protection of yourself and others, as advised here by Government guidelines, unless you are exempt.

Children under 13 don’t have to wear a face covering and remember, there are circumstances that make it difficult for some people to wear a face covering.

Cloakroom

Lockers for visitors are located on the ground floor of the museum. Please note that there is a non-refundable £1 charge for use.

Food and Drink

Our Wynne & Pym café is open during museum hours serving a wide selection of food and refreshments.  Capacity in the café is aligned to current government guidelines and subject to change. When you arrive, place your order at the counter and then take a seat. Our staff will deliver your order to your table. You’re encouraged to wear a face covering when walking around the café but not when seated at your table. Contactless payment is advised.

If you wish, you can also bring a picnic to eat outdoors in Botanic Gardens.
