Pen and Ink, with crayon and wash; design for casket to hold illuminated address to the Earl of Shaftesbury, signed by John Vinycomb, F.R.S.A.I., casket to be made by Sharman D. Neill, Silversmith, Belfast, April 1891 and to contain 156 ounces of sterling silver, and designed by Marcu Ward and Co. Ltd., Belfast December 1890; in loose mount annoted by Vinycomb 'Original Design for Shrine Casket presented to the Earl of Shaftesbury, 1891' and 'Presented by the Presentation Committee to the Art Gallery, 1895'.
