A horseshoe-shaped dress collar of Carickmacross applique lace. Made for wear with the open edges to dress centre front. Worked in a symmetrical design of shamrocks and ribbon bows, with filling stitches on the net ground and 'pops' (circles of buttonhole stitch) used to enhance the decoration. The entire edge of the collar has been finished with the picot stitching associated with Carrickmacross lace.
