William Bell

Location: Ulster Transport Museum / Rail & Road Galleries / Titanica Exhibition

Born in 1894, William Bell was a Harland and Wolff fitter who worked on all three Olympic Class liners – Olympic, Titanic and Britannic. He was still fitting out Titanic as it sailed from Belfast to but fortunately disembarked at Southampton before Titanic continued on its fateful journey. He purchased his own tools at a cost of £50 and these are now on display in our Titanica exhibition.
