Description:

First World War cartoon of soldiers following a tank, photographed from the Daily Mail, Thursday January 14, 1917. The tank is followed by cheering British soldiers but also pulls a gun-carriage albeit with no visible gun. Tanks did indeed pull gun-carriages in several campaigns, a task hitherto reserved for horses.
