Titanic and her Sister Ships
Titanic and her Sister Ships
Titanic was one of a series of three almost identical ships built by Harland and Wolff for the White Star Line. Olympic, Titanic and Britannic were built between 1908 and 1915 and are collectively known as the ‘Olympic Class’ ships. During a time of close competition with Cunard, White Star Line made a strategic decision to focus on luxury and comfort rather than speed. The Olympic Class ships were built to the highest standards with well designed accommodation in which first, second and third class passengers could cross the Atlantic.
