Portrait, oil on canvas, of Neil Boyle of Londonderry, land agent. Early 1800s.
This portrait was left to the museum by Marjorie Glad, a great great granddaughter of Andrew Campbell and his wife Elizabeth. Neil and Mary were Elizabeth’s parents. Marjorie’s parents emigrated from Ulster to Canada in 1906. They brought these family portraits with their personal belongings. Marjorie was born in Toronto in 1909, and the paintings passed into her possession on the death of her parents. Marjorie died in May 2000. The paintings were shipped from Toronto back to County Tyrone the following year. Artist unknown
