Welch Collection
The R.J. Welch photographic collection consists of glass negatives, original prints, lantern slides, original photographic albums and published series of views. Dating from c.1880 - c1935, it contains material of topographical, scientific, anthropological, archaelological, transport and industrial interest, covering the whole of Ireland with particular emphasis on the north and west. In addition to the photographical material, the museum holds Welch’s diaries and field notes and also his annotated maps.
