Linen proof cloth


A proof cloth for a linen hand towel. Huckaback weave with a central monogram 'A F' intertwined and borders of a stylised pattern in damask, of unbleached and red linen yarn. Loom width 39cm. A large (10cm x 14cm) paper label attached to one corner carries the proof cloth report, including the information that this sample was woven at the Lower Lodge works on 12th September 1928.
