A patchwork bedcover, hand pieced mosaic -style, of white and Turkey red cotton, in a pattern known as 'Sawtooth'. The patchwork appears to have been pieced without templates, using running stitch in white cotton thread. The backing is of white cotton flour bag fabric, machine pieced in sections, with a small patch sewn on by hand. Some of the print on the original flour bag is visible on the backing. The bedcover is hand quilted throughout in the 'wave' pattern (a series of chevron lines approximately 2 cm apart), in running stitch of white cotton thread. No waddding or interlining in the bedcover (quilt). The patchwork has a bound edging applied by hand, two oposite sides in white cotton, the other two in Turkey red cotton.
