An Irish dance dress of red terylene fabric with a brat (cape) of bottle green terylene. The cape is lined with white polyester satin. The dress fastens with a centre back zip and the skirt is lined. Both the dress front and the brat feature hand embroidery worked in a design of Celtic interlacing, in cotton yarn. The embroidery on the dress is worked in green on red, the embroidery on the brat, red on green. The brat fastens to the dress at the shoulders with brooches in the style of Celtic revival pins. The dress has a collar and matching cuffs of Irish crochet lace in white cotton thread. Worn by Joanne Wood in 1986, class costume for the Ballynafeigh School of Irish Dance, Belfast.
