'Complete wooden stock of an arquebus (the lighter of the two forms of hand-gun); with it is its ramrod, 847mm lenght, and the lead ball found in the chamber, 16mm calibre. While none of the metal parts, the barrel and the firing-mechanism, have survived, the housings for them are well preserved. The barrel end is straight with a slight curve to the butt. Flanagan, L. 'Ireland's Armada Legacy' (1988) p.95
