Here for everyone

Our museums are places where people of all ages and backgrounds can learn new things, rediscover values and traditions from the past, and find inspiration for the future.

Our museums play a distinct and special role in the local community. Each one cherishing and protecting the things that are easily forgotten in this busy world – our skills, values, stories and traditions.

Our role is to provide a space for everyone to share these experiences and offer new perspectives relating to real objects and collections, which allow all of us to gain new knowledge and understanding.

One way in which we do this is by delivering a broad programme of activities, collaborative projects and learning opportunities with, and for, local people, communities and community groups, using museum collections in new and creative ways. These programmes help to facilitate a better understanding of our shared heritage, encourage dialogue, curiosity and self-reflection.

Here you can learn about some of the projects we are involved in and how you can take part.
