Volunteering with National Museums NI
Volunteers have always played an important part in National Museums NI. As an organisation, we benefit from the rich skills and experience that our volunteers have to offer.
We are delighted that we are able to involve volunteers in a wide range of roles, offering people the opportunity to gain a unique insight to our museums.
All of our current roles are advertised here on our website, our social media pages and on the Volunteer Now platform Be Collective.
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
Bluegrass Omagh - Festival Volunteer
Bluegrass Omagh is the largest bluegrass festival outside of North America. This is an amazing opportunity to get involved in this unique music event. The Bluegrass Festival has run for 30 years, showcasing masters from USA, Australia and Europe including from across the UK and Ireland. It is a festival with strong ties to the local community and by involving the community we want to grow it from strength to strength.
Volunteer shifts will take place during the festival on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May 2022.

The Green Gym
As well as making a difference to our museums, volunteering is great for mental health and well-being.
In partnership with The Conservation Volunteers’ we are hosting a “Green Gym” at the Folk Museum. Find out more about how the project is transforming our heritage gardens as well as creating new ways for volunteers to get involved on our sites.
