See and Do

Rediscover our town and countryside and experience what life was like in Ulster over 100 years ago.

Reconnect with the values, skills and customs of Ulster from over 100 years ago. Take a stroll through rolling countryside and bustling town of Ballycultra filled with authentic shops and buildings, and meet the costumed guides bringing it all to life.

Most of our exhibit buildings will be open for you to enjoy but where we can’t guarantee social distancing these will remain closed for now. We ask you not to handle objects inside exhibit buildings in order to keep you, and them, safe.

See a variety of folk activities and traditional crafts demonstrations every day, from tweed weaving to blacksmithing to printing. Ask one of our Visitor Team for more details on daily demonstrations when you arrive.

Breathe in the fresh air and explore the beautiful countryside where whitewashed farmhouses dot the fields. Stop by our farm to say hello to the animals that once kept rural life turning.

Our Visitor Team will be on hand throughout your journey to answer your questions.

If you are planning to visit Ulster Transport Museum too, we recommend you leave a further two hours to enjoy all that the Transport Museum has to offer.
