In honour of the Capturing Ecology: Hidden Worlds exhibition at the Ulster Museum (11 Feb – 22 Mar), showcasing the winners of British Ecology Society’s prestigious photography competition, we’re launching our own competition to find fascinating photos of our local ecology taken by you!

A competition for all ages, immerse yourself in the sounds, smells and sights of nature through the lenses of your camera phone, and share your snaps on social media using #ClickEcology and tagging @UlsterMuseum for your chance to win.

Your photo could be shortlisted and shared on the Ulster Museum’s Facebook page, where the public will vote for their favourite entry.

No experience necessary, one lucky person will win the following:

  • An annual National Museums NI membership
  • A handmade design by our expert willow weaver, Bob Johnston (the man behind the magnificent dragons hanging in the Ulster Museum!)
  • Goodies from British Ecology Society, including a large print of your favourite photo in the Capturing Ecology exhibition.

  • A signed book from NI Science Festival

Think you've got what it takes? What are you waiting for – get outdoors and uncover the secrets lives of nature in your own backyard. Good luck!
