Due to the latest guidance from the NI Executive, our museums will remain closed until further notice. We look forward to welcoming visitors back to our museums when it is safe to do so and we would like to thank the public for their continued support and patience.
As always, admission to Ulster Museum is free, but to ensure your safety, visitors must pre-book a timeslot when we reopen.
Please arrive on time to make your day and the queue run a little more smoothly. We cannot guarantee admission if you have not secured your timeslot.
Our Welcome Team will be there to answer your questions, navigate your arrival, direct you to the ticket validation queue (e-ticket or pre-printed) and make this experience as easy as possible for you.
Group bookings are currently limited to 6 people maximum in line with current government guidelines. National Museums continue to review this as government and public health advice evolves.
If you are a member, don’t forget to bring along your membership card or photographic ID for entry so we can ensure your arrival is as smooth as possible and we can guarantee your free entry.
Read our booking Terms and Conditions here.
When you arrive
We have missed you! Our Welcome Team will be there to warmly welcome you and answer any questions you may have. Useful information regarding your arrival is also provided below to help you plan ahead.
Keeping you safe
Help us keep you safe. Remember to wash your hands regularly or make use of our hand sanitiser stations dotted around the museum and keep a safe distance from other visitors and staff.
If you’re feeling under the weather, please refrain from visiting the museum. Find more information about the new safety and hygiene measures we have here.
We strongly recommend that visitors wear face coverings at our sites. Face coverings will be available to purchase in our museum shop if you forget to bring your own.
Children under 13 don’t have to wear a face covering and remember, there are circumstances that make it difficult for some people to wear a face covering.
For more information on the government guidelines on wearing face coverings check out www.nidirect.gov.uk and www.publichealth.hscni.net
Checking your ticket
You will receive confirmation of your booking via email. On arrival at the Ulster Museum, you may need to queue for a few minutes while we scan tickets. At busy times you may be required to queue outside. We appreciate your patience as we ensure your arrival is as quick and as safe as possible.
Be sure to arrive at the museum in good time. In the event of late arrival, we will try our best to process your booking, however entry cannot be guaranteed.
Large pockets are a must because our cloakrooms are closed for now.
Food and Drink
Our Loaf Café is open during museum hours serving light bites and refreshments but with reduced capacity and social distancing measures in place. Contactless payment is advised. If you wish, you can also bring a picnic to eat outdoors in Botanic Gardens.
