Celebrate American Independence with a weekend festival at Ulster American Folk Park on 2nd & 3rd July! Find out what it was like for emigrants that left the Old World behind and found a life in the New World, just as America declared its independence. Take a look at some of the exciting activities happening below. 

Reading of the Declaration of Independence 12.40pm & 2.40pm
Experience a live public reading of the Declaration of Independence outside Eastern Courthouse on American Street. 

American Civil War Battlefield Skirmish 3:30pm
Take a stroll around the campsite of company K, 28th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry platoon during the American Civil War, before they find themselves under attack by Confederate forces! Enjoy firing and drill demonstrations throughout the day before taking cover as the dramatic battle on the Pennsylvanian Field unfolds at 3.30pm sharp. 

The Magician, Simon Ryan (Children’s Magic Show) 12pm, 1pm, 2pm & 3pm, 
Watch Simon Ryan, one of our nation’s leading professional magicians, as he brings magic to life in this tantalising show of wonder at the Ship & Dockside Gallery.  Simon's unique comedy and energy will thoroughly amaze children and adults alike! 

American Stilt-Walkers 2.30pm – 4.30pm,
See the incredible stilt walkers this American Independence Weekend as they tower above American Street and the New World. Why not get a family photo taken with them as a reminder of your day. 

Live Music by Knotty Pine String Band (Saturday 2nd July)

Live Music by Broken String Band (Sunday 3rd July) 12pm – 4.30pm,
Missed the Broken String Band at Bluegrass Omagh this year? Catch them again on Sunday 3rd July at the Pennsylvanian Log Barn! 

Face-Painting 11am – 4pm, 
Choose a fun design and have your face painted by our talented artists at the top of American Street! 

Mobile Air-Rifle Gallery & American Games 11am – 5pm,
Have some good old American family fun in our Games Field! Between air-rifle targets, cornhole, hobby horses, giant lawn games and more, there is something for all the family at Western Pennsylvanian Field! 

Traditional Skills & Demonstrations Throughout the day
Discover a vast range of skills demonstrated throughout the park. From food sampling, to blacksmithing and corn-dolly making in the Old World to big wheel spinning in the New World. Meet the fur-trapper to find out more about the elusive fur-trade during the 18th Century.
