Throughout history gardens have been multi-functional spaces – from monastic medicinal gardens to secular landscapes of leisure; from artists’ gardens to private demesnes and public parks.

This short series of illustrated talks will look at how artists have depicted and interpreted the elements and functions of gardens from the Renaissance to today.
