The Ulster Museum has a small but significant collection of furniture and works of art made from wood.
This exhibition draws together a selection of furniture and artworks that represents the changing styles and designs from over three centuries of furniture manufacture, right through to the present day.
The collection documents the developing traditions and styles of furniture-making, with particular emphasis on pieces made in Ireland. All of the pieces on display are unique and demonstrate the immense skill of the cabinetmakers of the past and the furniture designers of today, who continue to balance form, function and fashion when creating the ideal piece of furniture.
