Cultra Manor Limited Edition Vintage Afternoon Tea
……at half past three, everything stops for tea……
Your vintage afternoon tea experience starts when you make your way up the tree-lined avenue to Cultra Manor, one of the last mansions of the landed gentry to be built in Ireland. Set at the very heart of the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, this Edwardian manor retains much of its traditional architectural splendour.
Experience the Edwardian ritual of afternoon tea in the beautiful Cultra Manor at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum. This limited edition tea is exclusive to Saturday 14th, 21st & 28th April and Saturday 5th & 12th May from 1-4pm, £27.50pp.
As the original family home of the Kennedy’s was being built, the ritual of an afternoon tea reception was gathering popularity. Once completed in 1902, Cultra Manor welcomed lots of guests with pageantry, servants, silver teapots, fine linens, musicians, elegant teacups, and the best tea money could buy.
There’s something very special about this ritual and today we are recreating this unique experience for a limited period only on selected dates during April and May.
You will be greeted at the door of the manor house and shown to your table in the elegant Drawing room. Here you will be treated to a feast of sweet and savoury treats, prepared by our resident culinary team, paired with a pot of the finest fresh brewed tea or perhaps you will like to add a glass of champagne or one of our signature gin cocktails. There will be musical entertainment throughout the afternoon.
Whenever the occasion calls for something extra special this is the perfect choice; a special celebration, catch-up with friends, or a girl’s day out.
Bookings are available any time between 1 o’clock until 4 o’clock and tables on the terrace may be reserved for the glorious Spring days that we’re all expecting!
Early booking advised due to the limited availability of these events.
Sugar and spice and everything nice are what little girls are supposedly made of, and they’re also essential ingredients of a traditional afternoon tea.
Freshly prepared by our passionate culinary team, our menu faithfully follows the traditional combination of sweet and savoury and is a showcase of Ulster’s finest produce using the best seasonal ingredients available.
Enjoy a selection of finger and open sandwiches, Fivemiletown goat’s cheese and beetroot tartlets and scrumptious warm buttermilk scones with clotted cream.
Crunchy bitter chocolate and praline bar and a classic Victoria sponge with Erin Grove strawberry jam are just some of the mouth-watering, indulgent sweet treats on offer.
Whatever you choose you’ll be able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Cultra Manor and its grounds, relaxing with friends and family in this unique and beautiful place.
