Join us in marking the UNESCO International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition on 20th and 21st August at Ulster American Folk Park.
Watch our small re-enactment of Mary Anne McCracken, a lifelong abolitionist, as she passes handbills to Emigrants at Belfast Docks, asking them to refrain from getting involved with slavery in America. The continued campaign of Mary Ann McCracken long after the deaths of her counterparts, shows the strength of radicalism that existed in some circles of Belfast society at the end of the eighteenth century.
This re-enactment will take place at The Dockside Gallery from 11am to 5pm on 20th and 21st August 2022. Book your general admission ticket through the link.
