As part of the Tim Peake Spacecraft Tour visitors will be able to re-live the descent from space from the eyes of an astronaut through a unique virtual reality experience. Using the latest Samsung Gear VR technology, it enables visitors to experience what it feels like to sit inside the Soyuz’s descent module as it makes its dangerous high-speed journey back to Earth. This fully immersive experience is narrated by Tim Peake himself.

Space Descent VR with Tim Peake is presented by Science Museum Group, supported by Samsung.

Admission is free to the Tim Peake’s Spacecraft exhibition. The Space Descent VR experience is priced at £6 per person and is suitable for visitors aged 13 years and over. Tickets for this can be purchased on the day, however if you want to guarantee a specific timeslot, please pre-book via the links below.

Ulster Transport Museum is open Tuesdays-Sundays from 10am to 5pm and the last Space Descent VR experience slot is at 16.15.

The Soyuz capsule, which transported British astronaut Tim Peake safely back to Earth after his mission on the International Space Station is now on display at the Ulster Transport Museum until 12 May 2019.

The Soyuz TMA-19M capsule transported European Space Agency astronaut, Tim Peake, and his crewmates Yuri Malenchenko and Tim Kopra to the International Space Station on the Principia mission. It departed on 15 December 2015 and returned to Earth on 18 June 2016.

The Soyuz has been travelling across the UK as part of a national tour presented by global technology company Samsung and the Science Museum Group.
