Step back in time and experience the very best of Irish traditions as we celebrate St Patrick’s Day at the Ulster Folk Museum where you can enjoy a unique mix of traditional music, dance, crafts and food on Tuesday 17 March.

Join us for a traditional celebration from over 100 years ago as you and your family are transported back in time. Enjoy some traditional music and dance performances from musicians and Irish dancers throughout the day.  Learn more about a host of traditional crafts from the museum’s team of visitor guides including basket making, tweed weaving, straw rope making and blacksmithing. Food enthusiasts can experience traditional open-hearth baking and sample the very best of Irish cuisine with champ, potato bread and drop scones.

There will be a range of activities for visitors to see and take part in:

  • Listen to live traditional music and watch the Irish dancers throughout the day
  • Join in some set-dancing in the Parochial Hall
  • See the sheepdog demonstrations
  • Tickle the taste buds with some tasty traditional fayre
  • Children can have a go at some craft activities
  • Enjoy a film showing in the Picture House
  • Watch our traditional craft demonstrators at work
  • Visit the farm animals and meet our new baby piglets
