The table has been depicted in art for centuries – as a setting for still life and as a focal point for domestic, religious and political conversation. It can also reveal the aspirations of class in the display of luxurious food and tableware against the realities of poverty and hunger.

This is a ten week lecture series taking place in Ulster Museum Lecture Theatre. 

  • The ten lectures will run every Tuesday from Tuesday 20th September to Tuesday 6th December 2022. 
  • Please note, lectures will not happen on Tuesday 11th October and Tuesday 1st November. 
  • Tickets are £50.00 (£40.00 concession) for the series of 10 lectures.
